Summary:

The Senior Healthcare Analyst performs sophisticated data mining and analyses of clinical, financial and administrative data across Cook Children's Health Care System (CCHCS) companies to support the decision-making needs of senior executives. Via the use of multiple Business Intelligence tools and enhanced SQL programming skills, the Senior Analyst will provide superior analytical support and expertise to CCHCS executives, physicians, stakeholders and external clients.

The Senior Analyst will act as a technical resource to all other analysts in the department and be expected to communicate authoritatively on all aspects of department work (strategic, technical, operational, etc.). The Senior Analyst will select, recommend, and apply appropriate analytical and statistical methodologies and techniques to measure trends, progress and change. The Senior Analyst should be a strong critical and independent thinker who has significant experience and a strong background in SQL programming in complex data environments. The dissemination of data includes presentations to physicians, senior executives, customers /stakeholder groups and requires strong written and oral communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree required.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years health care applicable experience is required, previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong programming database skills in a Microsoft SQL Server and SAS environment required to manipulate and analyze large volumes of health care data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to quickly learn new computer programs and data sources.
  • Extensive analytical ability required to evaluate and interpret market, financial, clinical, and other supportive data in order to make sound and objective recommendations for strategic options.
  • Ability to evaluate highly complex and confidential performance data and determine if contingency plans are required to meet stated objectives.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and writing skills required to communicate results, strategic initiatives, goals, and objectives.
  • Able to work effectively with clinical and administrative staff in a multi-disciplinary environment. Self-directed and able to multi-task as needed to complete projects.
  • Good problem-solving skills needed.
