Position Title: ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF DINING SERVICES-ENGLEWOOD, CO

Salary: $65,000/annually

Job Summary

As the Assistant Director of Dining Services II, you will oversee day-to-day catering and foodservice operations across our campus facilities. You will lead and develop a diverse team of service professionals, chefs, and support staff while cultivating strong client relationships, maximizing operational profitability, and expanding our catering services portfolio. This role requires a passionate individual who can maintain exceptional service standards while driving innovation in our dining programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee all catering and dining operations, ensuring seamless execution of daily service
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Monitor inventory levels, food costs, and labor expenses to maintain budget compliance
  • Ensure all health, safety, and sanitation standards are consistently met or exceeded

Client & Relationship Management

  • Maintain excellent relationships with catering clients through regular communication and follow-up
  • Address customer feedback promptly and professionally to ensure continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with campus departments to align dining services with institutional needs and events
  • Represent the dining services department at campus meetings and community events

Menu Development & Quality Assurance

  • Collaborate with the Chef and management team to create nutritious, high-quality food for students
  • Oversee menu planning that accommodates diverse dietary needs and preferences
  • Conduct regular quality checks to ensure consistency and excellence in food preparation
  • Stay current with culinary trends and incorporate innovative concepts into menu offerings

Program Innovation & Implementation

  • Implement new culinary programs in partnership with the Eurest marketing and culinary teams
  • Create and execute special dining events and themed meal experiences
  • Develop sustainable food practices and locally-sourced menu options
  • Introduce technology solutions to improve ordering processes and customer experience

Team Management & Development

  • Recruit, train, and mentor dining services staff to build a high-performing team
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback
  • Identify staff development opportunities and coordinate appropriate training
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and excellence

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of progressive foodservice management experience, including budget responsibility
  • School or university dining experience preferred
  • ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety credentials
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to motivate and develop teams
  • Financial acumen with experience in budget management and cost control
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with foodservice management software and point-of-sale systems
  • Creativity in menu planning and event conceptualization
  • Outgoing and professional demeanor with exceptional customer service orientation
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed
  • Knowledge of current food trends, nutrition standards, and dietary accommodations

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods during service operations and events
  • Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Mobile throughout kitchen, dining, and campus facilities
