Summary

The primary function is to report the organization's financial status by preparing and analyzing financial plans, forecasts and reports. Provides direct accounting support to internal and external customers.



Essential Functions
Financial/Accounting Responsibilities

  • Provides accurate and timely reporting of the reconciliation of actual performance versus forecast/budget to the management team.
  • Participates, as appropriate, with internal financial audits.
  • Determines and improves financial status by comparing and analyzing plans and forecasts with actual results.
  • Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting
  • Assists with coordination / preparation of quarterly projections and annual budget in conjunction with Operations and Finance management.
  • Identifies and communicates risks and opportunities to budgets/plans.
  • Assists with the month-, quarter- and year-end closings and distribution of financial
  • Provides a wide variety of customer service to management including: assembling and summarizing data; preparing reports; presenting findings, analyses and
  • Performs special projects and analysis as directed by Financial Services
  • Understands and ensures compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Understands and sets priorities so that daily, weekly and monthly financial deadlines are

Working Conditions

  • The majority of work is expected to be completed in an office
  • Periodic travel to jobsites is required.



Education, Experience, and Knowledge

Requirements:



  • Associate's / Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field with

    • 2 to 4 years of experience at a mid-size or larger public accounting firm; or
    • Equivalent work experience with a general contractor in the construction industry


  • Experience with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principle (GAAP)
  • Understanding of financial statements and accounting relationships
  • Solid presentation skills and verbal/written skills
  • Proficiency in using a personal computer (PC) and company communication tools, such as email, internet, accounting applications and Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Outlook)



Preferred experience:



  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, a plus
  • Construction industry experience, a plus
  • Experience with percentage of completion accounting, a plus
