Transfer Station Operator

Bulldog IS NOW HIRING AN OPERATOR AT OUR TRANSFER STATION in Metropolis!

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Under general supervision, operates forklifts, front skid steer and Front end loaders. Also will have other duties including picking up garbage, cleaning machines, and directing traffic.

• Operates various types of equipment for the site.

• Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

• Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

• Loading recycle materials in a hopper

• Performs routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking oil, water, and tires.

• Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED

• 1-2 Years' Experience in operating Forklifts.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

• Exposed to different weather year round.

• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

• Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 to 75 + pounds.

• Ability to operate heavy equipment, skid steer and forklift safety.

• Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance.

• Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
