Position Summary We are seeking a TDA Turbine Technician to work out of our West Allis, WI office. This position is responsible for assisting with the disassembly, assembly, and mechanical operations on a variety of steam turbine spindles, casings, and valves where methods are standardized and prescribed. The employee will be trained to work from assembly drawings and specifications to do skilled fitting, aligning, and adjusting along with some secondary machining. The employee will be responsible for using a wide variety of precision measuring instruments and gauging devices. Assignments are performed under general supervision and work is given process and final inspection and test. Essential Duties
Education and Required Experience
Physical Requirements (The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.) The employee must be able to lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places, and risk of shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat, extreme cold and wet, humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud.
