Maintenance & Stores Coordinator - North Charleston, SC

The Maintenance & Stores Coordinator is responsible for all systems and activities that maintain plant technical stores at the proper levels. The Maintenance & Stores Coordinator will act as back-up for the Reliability Engineer in his absence, entering work orders, providing work plan guidance to contractors, and creating daily schedules and Safe Work Permits as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:




  • Procurement, receiving, stocking, inventory counts, and parts creation.
  • Ability to identify and implement opportunities to consolidate, improve and reduce the cost of store items
  • Implementing, documenting, and improving all monthly Preventive Maintenance tasks as well as other PM activities.
  • Monitoring and maintaining the plant utilities [compressors, water purification, boilers, etc.]
  • Proactive communication, including training and troubleshooting with the Operations group as to equipment status and support is expected.
  • Flexibility to address occasional off-hours maintenance calls



REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:




  • Technical degree in applicable related field with three (3) years of experience; or a combination of a high school diploma or GED equivalent with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant pigment manufacturing experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience indicating specific knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures and equipment.
  • Familiarity with plant safety systems and procedures i.e. lockout/tagout (LOTO), safe work permits, fall protection, hot work, etc..
  • Proficiency in completing maintenance and preventive maintenance on rotating equipment [Lubrication, check and change belts, inspect gearboxes and bearings, inspect motor couplings, tighten packing glands, inspect hoists]
  • Excellent organizational, mechanical, troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office



PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:




  • Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • Ariba software experience
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and mechanical abilities with respect to plant systems and equipment
  • Background in maintenance skills and/or procurement
