Pay Range

$33.48 - $40.99 Hourly for the 538.1 level

$41.93 - $51.33 Hourly for the 538.2 level

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting; pay will not be below any applicable local minimum wage. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.


Job Description

We have multiple openings for Coordinators/Technical Coordinators. You will provide technical coordination support to the Engineering directorate. You will work with facility and scientific staff to perform specific and general duties in conjunction with technical projects, experiments, and materials/equipment acquisitions. These positions may require you to have the flexibility to work overtime, shift and/or weekends to accomplish goals. These positions are in the National Security Engineering Division (NSED) within the Engineering Directorate.

This position requires full-time on-site presence due to the nature of the work.

This position will be filled at eitherlevel based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.

You will

  • Solve basic technical problems and exercise minimal decision making using established guidelines, techniques, and procedures.
  • Provide basic technical support on relocation of experimental equipment.
  • Perform seismic anchoring to walls or concrete
  • Perform ergo moves to include crate deliveries
  • Assist the Directorate Property Manager in performing property inventories.
  • Perform lead/paint mitigation
  • Assist the building coordinators with miscellaneous projects within the facilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional job responsibilities, at the 538.2 level

  • Plan, initiate, and coordinate the scheduling of various infrastructure improvement projects such as workplace reconfigurations, office moves, laboratory equipment moves, and installations working with technical personnel to develop and implement standards and specifications.
  • Communicate on a daily/weekly basis with Facility Managers (FM's), Associate Director Facility Managers (ADFM's) and facility points of contact regarding the weekly schedule of activities.

Qualifications
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Associate degree in engineering technology or a related technology area or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Experience working effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment, with diplomacy and demonstrated organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of inventory, material flow, and recording information; working knowledge of checklists, spreadsheets, and various tracking documents which includes basic computer skills associated with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Knowledge and experience associated with material handling techniques and demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment such as pushing/pulling pallet jacks, bins, carts, dollies, and able to lift to 50 lbs.
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills to all levels of management.
  • Experience handling multiple assignments with frequent interruptions and conflicting/changing priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid California Driver's License with the ability to operate a 1/2-ton pickup, industrial fork trucks and obtain a fork truck operator's license.

Additional qualifications at the 538.2 level

  • Experience providing general facility coordination, leading a team, and planning/scheduling for the team's work activities including workplace design standards, procedures, and techniques related to facility infrastructure projects.
  • Experience making decisions using good judgment and established procedures to resolve issues, with the ability to identify and specify project components based upon client specifications.
  • Able to attain and maintain a valid California Driver's License with the ability to operate a 3/4- to 2-ton flatbed truck with lift gate.

Position Information

This is a Flexible Term appointment, which is for a definite period not to exceed six years.If final candidate is a Career Indefinite employee, Career Indefinite status may be maintained (should funding allow).

This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance.If you are selected, wewill initiate a Federal background investigation to determine if youmeet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Also, all L or Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing. Q-level clearance requires U.S. citizenship.
