Consulting Case Prep Coach (Summer 2025) Part-Time, Fixed-Term - Tepper School of Business

The Tepper School of Business is home to many programs and research programs that cross disciplines. We approach scientific problems from fresh angles using creative interdisciplinary approaches while drawing on our strengths in the core social sciences. Tepper faculty members are nationally and internationally recognized for their research in a variety of fields, including organizational behavior and theory, economics, finance, and accounting.

Carnegie Mellon University's Tepper School of Business is seeking 3-5 recent MBA graduates who have successfully secured full-time consulting offers and have prior experience with pre-MBA consulting recruiting and a consulting internship. These individuals will serve as Consulting Career Prep Coaches to support current students in their recruiting journey. This is an exciting opportunityfor someone whothrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You willcontributeto the department by providing support by focusing on training and coaching incoming MBA students (Class of 2027) in case interview structure and practice as they prepare for Pre-MBA recruiting opportunities. This role is up to 10 hours per week from June to mid-July 2025.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Deliver one-on-one and small group case coaching (up to 10 hours per week) from June to July 2025.

  • Teach casing structure and problem-solving techniques to help students develop a clear and logical approach to case interviews.

  • Provide tailored feedback to help students refine their communication, analytical thinking, and structuring skills.

  • Conduct live case walkthroughs and mock interviews to simulate real consulting interview scenarios.

  • Offer guidance on best practices for Pre-MBA consulting recruiting, including networking, resume positioning, and behavioral interview preparation.

  • Report to and collaborate with the MCC to ensure training aligns with best-in-class consulting preparation.

  • Other duties as assigned in support of student development.

You should demonstrate:

  • The ideal candidate will have strong casing expertise, coaching experience, and ample availability, including evenings and weekends, to support students with structured case practice.

Qualifications:

  • Recent MBA graduate (graduation date by May 2025) with a full-time offer from a top consulting firm.

  • Completed a consulting internship with a strong performance record.

  • TCC involvement required (e.g., leadership role, mentor, or active participant in consulting prep).

  • Prior coaching and Pre-MBA recruiting experience preferred (e.g., communication coach, peer mentor, or teaching assistant).

  • Availability for evening and weekend sessions to accommodate incoming students' schedules.

  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
