Job Title: Engineer - Core Team Lead

Location: Hybrid

Type: Full-time, Direct Hire

Experience: 3 plus years


About the Role

We're seeking a Systems Engineer to lead core systems engineering efforts on a high-impact project - working closely with a third-party design house managing core development. You'll take point on requirements and risk management, guide cross-functional collaboration, and drive design verification efforts from planning through execution.

This role is perfect for a hands-on engineer who thrives in regulated environments and is ready to step into a Core Team Lead position.


Key Responsibilities


  • Own and manage system- and sub-system-level requirements and specifications across development phases



  • Drive risk management activities, including creation and maintenance of FMEAs (design and use/failure modes)



  • Lead design verification efforts: protocol development, execution, and reporting



  • Collaborate with third-party design partners to ensure technical alignment and project milestones



  • Represent Systems Engineering in cross-functional core team meetings and decision-making



  • Support traceability, documentation, and change control processes in compliance with regulatory standards




Must-Haves


  • 3-8 years of experience in a regulated industry (Medical Device preferred, but open to Pharma, Aerospace, Military, etc.)



  • Strong background in:




    • Requirements/specifications management



    • FMEAs (dFMEA/uFMEA) and risk mitigation strategies



    • Design verification including protocol development and execution





  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BME, ME, EE, SE or similar); Master's optional but not required




Highly Desired


  • Experience with electromechanical medical devices



  • Prior experience as a project or technical lead



  • Familiarity with working alongside external development partners or contract design firms
