*Job Description:*
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Billing and Collections Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in billing or collections for medical care/services and be proficient in reconciling cash, checks, and credit card payments for depositing. *Responsibilities:* * Assist patients with the collection of payments and general account inquiries. * Perform daily depositing and reconciliation of all payments made directly to the Cashier's office and other departments. * Successfully file hospital liens for self-pay patients when applicable. * Disburse petty cash and perform other duties as assigned. * Accept and accurately post payments to patient accounts or in payment processing systems, including credit cards or e-checks. * Assist visitors by answering patient questions and addressing complaints in a professional and courteous manner. * Maintain Epic work queue compliance and accurately complete daily reconciliation. * Complete liens, including check requests, court documents, and certified mail accurately. * Maintain petty cash documentation, including disbursements and requesting checks to replenish. *Preferred Skills & Qualifications:* * One year of experience in healthcare/revenue cycle functions, case management, or social work. * High School diploma or equivalent. * State of Wisconsin and Federal Certified Application Counselor Designation (or must obtain within 12 months after hire). * Experience using Epic in a healthcare environment preferred *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
