Pay Rate: $40/hr on W2.

Shift Timing: Mon-Fri 7:00AM - 3:45PM (with 45 min lunch)

Duration: 6+ months with possibility of CTH

Comments:

  • The role: Work a part of a team to set up/ prepare test equipment for crash testing airplane seats. Fast paced environment where each individual on the team has a role to perform with precision and speed in between tests (for example, like a NASCAR pit crew).
  • Training: On-the- job with assigned Mentor (not a classroom setting)
  • Experience: Mechanical background, automotive, and use of basic hand tools


Job Description:

  • This position is for an Engineering Services Test Technician who is under direct supervision at Interiors Engineering Development Lab (EDL). Performs moderately complex technical tasks which contribute to the planning and execution of engineering projects. May serve as a resource on varied tasks.


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Works with peers / engineers to build and test commercial aircraft seats and furniture.
  • Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of tasks.
  • Confer with engineers on details and implications of test article build, test procedures and results.
  • Occasional overtime including weekends will be required.


Minimum requirements:

  • Associate's degree (AA/AS) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and minimum 3 years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient with variety of hand tools
  • Proficient with basic mechanical and manufacturing concepts.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel.
  • Working knowledge of engineering drawing interpretations.


Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in a highly regulated industry, especially aerospace or automotive.
  • Experience working in a testing and quality assurance environment.
  • Well organized with solid judgment; able to multitask and adjust to changing priorities in a fast -paced environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of metal machining and fabrication equipment.
