Position Overview:

Title: Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor
Reports To: VP Manufacturing
Location: Oconomowoc, WI - in person position

As a Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading our Manufacturing Engineering team to optimize production efficiency, quality, and cost through process improvement, design for manufacturability (DFM/A), and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership: Directly supervise Manufacturing Engineering staff and other personnel as assigned. Set individual performance expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and track progress. Offer coaching, training, and recommend outside training opportunities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to increase productivity, enhance product quality and consistency, and control costs. Analyze manufacturing data to determine improvement priorities and strategies.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with Quality Assurance to establish systems and procedures ensuring all processed components conform to requirements.
  • Efficiency Enhancement: Plan and analyze workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout. Implement manufacturing plans to boost efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing personnel to improve design for manufacturability and train engineering on current manufacturing skill levels.
  • Facility Management: Develop and implement plans to maintain and improve company facilities, properties, and equipment. Support root cause investigations, 5S, and lean initiatives.
  • Problem Solving: Lead and facilitate cross-functional teams to resolve product/process issues.
  • Supplier Selection: Assist in supplier selection and validate supplier process capabilities and controls.
Qualifications:
  • Education: B.S. in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum three years in a high mix, low volume manufacturing environment or M.S. in Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Skills: Knowledge of ISO-9000 and other quality programs, engineering and manufacturing processes including metal machining, welding, testing, assembly, GD&T, inspection procedures, material handling, and related manufacturing processes.
  • Competencies: Demonstrates A Player Competencies: Aptitude, Alliance, Agility, Accountability, Awareness & Anticipation.
  • Technical Proficiency: Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP programs.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; nimble, creative thinking.
  • Team Player: Able to work and cooperate with all departments.
  • Leadership: Effective supervision and ability to gain respect of others.
  • Self-Starter: Energizing, results-oriented, and decisive.
