The connection we have to the source of our fresh foods is core to the way we do business, becoming the first major supermarket in the United States to document that all its seafood products were sustainably harvested. This Associate Relations Specialist will be responsible for Districts 3 and 4 stores. The successful candidate must be willing to travel throughout Southern, Central and Coastal Maine. Responsible for monitoring and ensuring the effectiveness of Associate Relations functions at retail in an effort to develop and maintain a rewarding and challenging work environment aligned with our company vision. Demonstrate good judgement, discretion and confidentiality while solving problems and making decisions. Ensure district compliance with all company policies, legal requirements and ethical procedures. Develop and maintain a solid business partnership with Retail Leadership to assure that communication between the Operations and Store Management is consistent with good HR practices. Support individual banners' culture through role modeling and coaching key management how to effectively manage performance. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: > Assure retail compliance with all labor and employment laws. > Responsible, in collaboration with store management, for the ethical and equitable management of the company s associates and for implementation of the company s human resource policies and practices, consistent with individual banners' culture. > Develop and maintain solid and effective relationships with the Divisional Leadership in order to assure that communication between the DM and store management is consistent with good HR practices. > Facilitate non-disciplinary interactions between associates and/or store management. > Create, train and review the effectiveness of HR training programs and recommend refinements as necessary (i.e. HR compliance, sexual harassment, performance management and performance counseling). > Gatekeeper for all HR related initiatives, enhancements and new technologies. Collaborate with cross functional areas in the corporate office to assure such initiatives, enhancements and technologies are consistent with HR values. > Responsible, in collaboration with store management, for training, developing and selecting qualified Associate Relations Managers, where applicable. > Identifying and selecting District ARM trainers, where applicable, in order to ensure consistent application of best practices company wide. > Assist ARMs or Store Managers in managing total store recruiting and selection efforts in order to attract, hire and retain qualified candidates. > Assist ARMs or Store Managers in managing and leading the career track process for development of key leadership within the store. > Responsible for role modeling and influencing managers and associates to display the behaviors that drive positive culture. > Travel frequently throughout designated district and corporate office. Qualifications and Experience: > Knowledge of labor and employment laws. > Must possess a strategic understanding of the values and practices which allow Human Resources to serve as a key leverage in creating and sustaining a challenging, committed retail work environment. > Ability to work a flexible schedule dictated by our business needs, including occasional overnight travel.
