Located 15 minutes north of downtown Dallas, Leonardo DRS is a leading innovator of infrared (IR) sensors and imaging systems. As a member of the "IR Materials" Process Engineering team, you will be responsible for one or more stages of the manufacturing process used to fabricate the IR sensitive materials for cooled infrared detectors. These processes may include planarization techniques such as chemical mechanical polishing (CMP), lapping, and diamond point turn (flycutting) in efforts to produce epitaxy-ready CdZnTe substrates. Your duties will encompass process management, process improvements, process troubleshooting, and new process development. This position is critical to the success of Leonardo DRS infrared imaging products. Job Responsibilities
* Own and maintain manufacturing processes, methods, and equipment. Qualifications
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Materials Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Desired Skills
* Familiarity with or interest in materials science fundamentals such as crystallography and materials characterization. ***U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
