Description & Requirements
We're seeking a full-stack Senior Software Engineer with AI experience to join our newly established Internal Innovation Team. This team is charged with imagining, building, and delivering cutting-edge tools, applications, and systems. The Innovation Team is a strategic initiative that focuses on transforming how our professionals in accounting, assurance, and consulting achieve their work, collaborate with each other, and deliver value to our clients. This role exists to rapidly design, prototype and deliver innovative tools and software and AI solutions that simplify internal processes, increase efficiency, and unlock new ways of working across the firm. You'll play a critical role in turning ideas into reality - building high-quality solutions that help our Firm work smarter, faster, and with greater impact. The work you'll do directly supports the Firm's broader objective of continuous improvement and operational excellence, ensuring our internal teams are equipped with modern, flexible, and scalable tools. You'll be empowered to think big, experiment boldly and deliver tangible. This is more than a developer role - it's an opportunity to shape the way a large firm works from the inside out
How you will contribute:
  • Design and build proof-of-concepts (POC) that solve real problems for internal users, gathering feedback that provides data-driven decisioning to evolve ideas to MVP
  • In collaboration with the appropriate Subject Matter Experts (SME), lead technical strategy and architecture decisioning on products withing the innovation pipeline
  • Adopt the highest engineering standards, produce clean code, build quality in by testing, implement robust CI/CD pipelines complete with monitoring, and assure completeness in system & application documentation
  • Stay on top of emerging technologies, frameworks and patterns - then develop business cases around innovating with products to bring those ideas to life
  • Work across the stack, from database and API design to UI implementation using Microsoft technology (and beyond)
  • Participate in ideation, design, demo, feedback loops with internal users
  • Shape the engineering culture and value-add of the innovation team
We are looking for people who have Forward Vision and:
  • Software:
    • Core Software Engineering Foundations: Software Architecture, Design Patterns, Test Driven Development, API Strategy & Design, Secure Coding
    • Languages and Frameworks, including expertise in the Microsoft technologies - with the flexibility and curiosity to explore and champion new technologies
    • DevOps and CI/CD: Infrastructure as Code (IaC), containers, monitoring, logging
    • Cloud & Infrastructure with ability to cost optimize and to develop scaling practices horizontally and vertically
    • Data & Integration patterns
    • Quality & Testing: Mocking libraries, NUnit, Playwright, Postman
    • Collaboration & Tooling: Atlassian Confluence/Jira, Git, GitLab, Azure repos, Visual Studio, Balsamiq
    • Generative AI, Large Language Models, Agentics AI, and emerging trends Artificial Intelligence
  • AI:
    • Machine Learning Frameworks: Proficiency in popular machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Microsoft's Azure Machine Learning. This ensures the candidate can develop and deploy AI models effectively.
    • Natural Language Processing (NLP): Experience with NLP techniques and tools, essential for tasks such as text analysis, sentiment analysis, and language generation.
    • Computer Vision: Knowledge of computer vision techniques and libraries, crucial for image and video analysis tasks.
    • Model Deployment: Ability to deploy AI models in a production environment, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
    • Data Integration: Experience with integrating AI solutions with existing systems, particularly within a Microsoft ecosystem. This includes working with CoPilot Studio, Azure services and other Microsoft tools.
    • Algorithm Development: Strong skills in developing and optimizing algorithms for various AI applications, ensuring high performance and accuracy.
    • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving abilities to address complex AI challenges and develop innovative solutions.
    • Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with other engineers and departments to integrate AI solutions seamlessly into existing workflows.
  • Other Abilities:
    • Proven ability to rapidly prototype, iterate, and scale early-stage products
    • Strong architectural thinking, particularly around modularity, scalability, security, and tradeoff analysis

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5-9 years of relevant industry experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10 or more years of relevant industry experience
  • Certifications that demonstrate technical depth and alignment
