This position reports to

Planning & Fulfillment Manager

Your role and responsibilities

Set up and adjust injection molding machines rubber and plastic including internal components within mold.
Use of hand tools, power tools, precision measuring equipment and testing instruments.
Observe mechanical and electrical devices in operation to locate cause of trouble.
Dismantle molds to gain access to remove defective parts. Examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
Repair or fabricate defective parts.
Operate hoist system to transfer molds onto rack and in to presses.
Install special functional and structural parts in molds, perform tests, and troubleshoot.
Use prints and drawings provided by the manufacturer and the Engineering Department for rebuilding procedures.
Determine configurations of hydraulic valves and various hydraulic components for the proper operation of the equipment.
Perform minor plumbing for molds.
Assist in major rebuilding of molds under supervisor or project leader.
Assist maintenance mechanics if mold needs to be removed for press repair.
Communicate any tooling or set up issues that impact production to the Molding Set Up Lead person or the supervisor in a timely manner.
Make necessary safety and control adjustments (stack height, obstruction pressure, slow close, etc.)
Change worn or damaged leader pins, stripper bolts, etc.
Operate presses for mold changes.
Communicate with Tool Room Leadsperson on Tooling issues.
Clean mold tooling using wire brush, sand blaster or dry ice-cold jet and prepare molds/tooling for shipment.
Maintain setup records and associated paperwork.
Follow company policies and regulations including quality, safety, and production standards.
Handle hazardous waste from work area to accumulation site.
May need to cover other shifts, as necessary, and perform other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications for the role
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • General PC Skills
  • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of internal employees and external individuals.
  • 1-3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience as a mold setter a plus.
  • Knowledgeable in mechanical & electrical schematics.
  • PCL/Electronic experience a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to perform repetitive operations and pull/push functions
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours daily
  • Comfortable bending, twisting, reaching
  • Comfortable working with heavy equipment and in a non-climate-controlled environment
  • Must be able to work on hot molds
  • Ability to operate forklift truck and walk behind lift truck
  • Some experience in troubleshooting electrical issues utilizing voltmeter
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Exposure to troubleshooting
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
