This Buyer will be responsible to:
  • Negotiate the purchase of goods, support services and equipment for the hospital. Research competitive pricing, processes purchase orders and communicate with customers to ensure no operation within the organization is compromised
  • Communicate, monitor and ensure compliance with hospital standards and procedures for the purchase of materials and services
  • Initiate the purchase of goods and services, track and follow up on orders through delivery. Select purchase methodology, compose purchase order, verify availability of product or service and establish delivery dates. Monitor and expedite open orders and resolves invoice discrepancies. Maintain communication with requisitioning depts regarding status of orders. Follow up on orders to ensure receipt of ordered items, services or equipment
  • Assist hospital dept customers by researching product information and purchase options, contacting vendors, obtaining price quotes, and negotiating costs
  • Assist in cost containment by utilizing group purchasing contracts, encourage product standardization, and recommend inventory containment opportunities
  • Coordinate product recalls, returns, and outdates
  • Maintain knowledge of current professional trends and practices through participation in professional organizations and attendance at workshops, conferences and other continuing education programs.
  • Establish and maintain professional working relationships with vendors and hospital customers

To qualify, you must have:

  • The level of knowledge typically acquired through completion of 2 or more years of occupationallyspecific experience or an Associate's degree in Business or a related field and 2 years of previous experience
  • Excellent analytical skills to resolve complex problems requiring the use of mathematical, or technical principles and indepth, experiencedbased crossfunctional knowledge
  • Strong communication skills in order to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues, mediate fair solutions and have welldeveloped writing skills
  • Hybrid/Remote -2-3 days in house a week
