POSITION SUMMARY
Stratton is seeking enthusiastic and hard-working team members to work with our catering team. This position is responsible for the setup and breakdown of banquet events, indoors and outdoors. All applicants should possess some experience in the service industry, fine dining service experience is a plus. This is an occasional position, compensated at $15/hour + tips for serving/bartending shifts, and $20/hour for non tipped shifts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Maintain effective and clear communication through all Food and Beverage areas, with guests, teammates and supervisors
  • Consistently display a positive attitude and has ability to multi-task
  • Efficiently and enthusiastically executes tasks as assigned by Banquet Captain or Supervisor, including but not limited to setup, service, light food prep or cleanup
  • Support the Banquet Captain in distributing, delivering and retrieving supplies pre and post event to ensure optimal efficiency as a team
  • Ensure the function room is set-up as related to the placement of tables and chairs, linens, water and food service and any audio/visual equipment per the Event Order details in a timely fashion
  • Build banquet bars and relocate portable bars as necessary
  • Communicate with the kitchen staff with regards to the timing of food service
  • Ensure facility cleanliness standards are consistently maintained
  • Completes all required in person and online trainings while meeting applicable deadlines
  • Reports and escalates any team member or guest issues and concerns to management
  • Additional duties as assigned


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education:
  • Actively pursuing a High school degree or equivalent, required


Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 - 2 years' experience in a high-volume F&B and/or catering environment


QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
  • A minimum commitment of two shifts per month is required to maintain active job status.
  • Exceptional communication skills, guest service and team building abilities
  • Need to be highly motivated, resourceful, detail oriented, enthusiastic, outgoing and reliable
  • Must be well groomed and have a great attitude
  • Must be organized and be able to multitask
  • Able to remain calm during stressful situations and adapt well to many different situations and changes
  • Knowledge of Vermont Health Codes and be DLC Certified (can become certified upon hire if needed)
  • Bartending experience not required, will train right individual.
  • Basic restaurant or catering service experience required.
  • Experience with RTP or Square, a plus


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
