Pay

Salaried grade 6, 7 or 8
$67,500 - 88,300 / year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Actual salaries may vary and in some cases may be higher with extensive experience and strong performance.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (with flexibility as needed)

Hybrid-Remote with a minimum of two days onsite per week, per business need.

Job Summary

McKee Foods Corporation is seeking a Purchasing Agent to join our Corporate Purchasing team, focusing on Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO). This role is essential in ensuring we have the right materials, services, and supplies-at the right time, quality, and cost-to support our operations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Source and purchase MRO materials, supplies, and services to meet operational needs
  • Review requisitions, obtain quotes, and place purchase orders with reliable suppliers
  • Negotiate terms and agreements to ensure competitive pricing, service, and delivery
  • Analyze supplier performance and market trends to reduce costs and improve efficiency
  • Collaborate across departments to understand needs and resolve supplier issues
  • Conduct supplier evaluations, including occasional on-site reviews
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure purchasing decisions align with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards
  • Supervise assigned support personnel and provide guidance as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (2 years of experience = 1 year education)
  • At least 1 year of experience in purchasing or a related field
  • Understanding of purchasing procedures, supplier negotiations, and cost analysis
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
  • 3-5 years of purchasing experience, especially in MRO
  • Familiarity with Maximo or McKee Toolbox
  • C.P.M. or CPSM certification
  • Knowledge of maintenance-related parts and repairs (electrical, mechanical, raw metals, etc.)
