DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Corrections Food Service Supervisor, you will oversee Corrections Food Service Instructors and inmate workers in the performance of routine and specialized tasks in food service operations. You will inspect food service areas, equipment, and food to ensure compliance with established safety and sanitation standards. You will also approve requisitions for food supplies and equipment based on projected usage as well as submit reports on tool inventory, safety, and production. This role requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and inmates while implementing functional work processes and procedures that support efficient food service. In addition, you will provide special instruction in the preparation of therapeutic and religious diet menus, adjust recipes to reduce food waste, and exercise therapeutic care, custody, and control over inmates at all times. - Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. You will work swing shift and have rotating days off.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Corrections Food Service Instructor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Three years of experience in food preparation, production, or service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar large-scale food production operation, which included one year of lead work experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training, which included one year of lead work experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
