Moog Military Aircraft has an immediate opening for a Quality Engineer to join our team. Reporting to our Process Manager and you will havea 9/80 schedule option and work on-site in Torrance, CA.

You will plan, implement, and administer cost effective Quality Programs to assure that a system is in place which will meet or exceed contractual quality requirements and provide the required level of protection to Moog and its Customers. As a Quality professional, you'll have the opportunity to have a measurable impact on the performance of our business by promoting the highest standards of quality. The hardware that we produce is very complex, and therefore we will be looking for someone who understands the critical nature of it.

To be considered for the Quality Engineer role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

  • 3+ years of professional work experience in Engineering or Manufacturing

  • 2+ years of Quality Engineering work experience in manufacturing

It'd be great if you also had:

  • 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience in the Aerospace industry

  • Experience with AS9100 standards

  • Proficiency with statistical, spreadsheet, word processing, and database software packages

  • Experience supporting government and customer audits

  • Specialized technical knowledge of mechanical, electro-mechanical, hydro-mechanical components as well as manufacturing assembly, and functional test methods

  • The ability to support quality related issues to drive program success; the ability to convey confidence to customers during frequent interactions

  • ASQ certification is a plus

As a Quality Engineer, you will...

  • Most importantly, you'll be relied heavily upon to have integrity, and as someone who won't be afraid to stand up and say "STOP - we have a problem we that need to address right away."   • Play an integral part on program teams in meeting contractual requirements and driving crucial quality related decisions for customers such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Airbus, and Sikorsky for both commercial and military aircraft. Act as the Moog liaison and representative to support Government (FAA and DCMA) initiatives, audits and requirements.

  • Support production by conducting QE studies, recommending design changes and providing quality support to manufacturing personnel.

  • Activities will include failure analysis, root cause and corrective action analysis, risk mitigation, material review, customer & governmental interface, audit support configuration control, traceability and audit support.

  • Develop Quality plans for receiving inspection, manufacturing operations, assembly & test processes and final inspection.

  • Optimize cost for inspection and prevent cost due to failure through statistical analysis and problem solving.

Salary Range Transparency:

Torrance, CA $100,000.00-$120,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
