Job Description Job Description: George Consulting is seeking a Network Engineer with an understanding in working in Agile Project management and/or Development Operations environments and to support a Department of Defense research lab. Roles and Responsibilities: The Network Engineer responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Design and implement computer and information networks (physical and virtual), such as local area networks (LAN/VLAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks. Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning. Configure and maintain Cisco VPN enabled network Research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software. Able to work independently with limited direction and be self-motivated. Able to work with other contractor teammates and customers daily. Able to work closely with customers to ensure deliverables meet their expectations and arrive in a timely manner. Attend and actively participate in team meetings. Apply software patches to network assets in response to and to mitigate vulnerability findings. THIS POSITION REQUIRES AN ACTIVE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE TOP SECRET OR SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE. Required Skills & Experience: Possess an active security clearance Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field. Citrix hypervisor experience (or other vmware experience), Networked Attached Storage (NAS) knowledge/experience Familiar with various Firewall configurations (iptables or similar) and experience with implementing. Experience in computer system administration, especially Linux (Debian, Ubuntu etc.).
