POSITION TITLE: People Operations Analyst II

POSITION SUMMARY:

The People Operations Analyst II will play a strategic and hands-on role in optimizing and supporting the UKG Human Resources Information System at Scripps Research. This mid-level position is ideal for a professional with 5+ years of HRIS experience who excels at turning complexity into clarity, improving systems, and enabling data-driven decision-making. You will serve as a key liaison between HR, Payroll, and IT, ensuring that our HR technology supports the evolving needs of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:



  • Lead and support system enhancements, configuration changes, and process improvements within the UKG platform.
  • Champion the effective use of UKG by identifying optimization opportunities and driving user adoption through training and support.
  • Ensure data accuracy, timeliness, and security across all HRIS modules, supporting payroll, compliance, and workforce planning.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and escalation point for HRIS-related inquiries, providing Tier 2 support through the ticketing system.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Human Resources, Payroll, and IT to align system capabilities with organizational goals.
  • Design, build, and maintain reports and dashboards to support strategic HR initiatives and leadership decision-making.
  • Participate in system testing, upgrades, and implementation of new features or modules.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, workflows, and procedures.

          REQUIREMENTS:



          • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
          • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HRIS administration and reporting; UKG and/or Workday experience strongly preferred.
          • Proven ability to manage and improve HRIS processes and workflows.
          • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
          • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments.
          • Strategic thinker with a proactive mindset and a strong sense of ownership.
          • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and making informed decisions with limited data.
          • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
          • This is an on-campus position requiring 4 days per week working onsite from our La Jolla campus.



                    COMPENSATION:

                    The expected hiring range for this position is $85,900 to $95,000/annually, commensurate with experience. Consideration will be given to experience that exceeds the listed requirements.
