Overview

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS), a premier provider to the US Department of Defense and allied nations, is seeking a Financial Analyst II to join our Healdsburg or Folsom, California team.

The key functions of the Financial Analyst II are to stabilize material receipts forecasting by providing on-time, accurate, and complete material reports in support of EACs and CE. The purpose of the role is to enhance financial oversight and cost management by analyzing costed bill of material reports and open purchase order line items to support program material forecasting and maintain program EAC accuracy, minimizing reporting variances. This position will mitigate risks and align with contractual obligations by tracking receipts to PBP events, ensuring the receipt is on track to the contractual PBP schedule and identifying risks while working with the Material Program Manager (MPM) to implement mitigating actions. Supporting supplier negotiations by providing price cost analysis support to Material Program Managers and Buyers to enable data-driven supplier negotiations is another key function. The Financial Analyst II will strengthen Variance Analysis and reporting by leveraging advanced Excel and PowerBI skills to analyze trends and adjust forecasts proactively while streamlining material-related financial reporting and alleviating reporting burdens from the current program FA team. They will provide actionable insights to MPMs for supplier discussions and remedies and assist with FP&A reporting.

*We are on a 9/80 schedule (9 hour days Monday - Thursday, alternating Fridays off, opposite Fridays 8 hour days).



Major Position Responsibilities

This role performs economic research and studies of rates of return, depreciation and investments. Additionally it analyzes profit-and-loss income statements and prepares reports and recommendations to management. The Financial Analyst II generates forecasts and analyzes trends in sales, finance and other areas of business. This position also researches economic progressions to assist the organization's financial planning. This role also creates financial models of "what if" scenarios for future business planning decisions in areas such as new product development, new marketing strategies, etc.

Essential Functions:

    Conducts quantitative analyses of information affecting budgets, expenses, and other financial projects.
  • Collects and analyzes financial information for assigned accounts, products or product lines, or business units to track the organization's progress against financial goals.
  • Reports current or expected financial performance and creates financial models to guide decision making.
  • Analyzes cash flow, expenditures, revenue, depreciation, and investments to make recommendations for action and/or modifications regarding financial procedures, plans, and controls.
  • Assists in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, or annual financial statements.
  • Cost Estimating: May also be responsible for overseeing financial operations for one or more projects, including cost accounting, cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and accounts payable.
  • Establishes project budgeting and cost control processes using budget tracking tools. Produces and maintains monthly financial statements, work-in-progress reports, and general ledgers
  • Reviews and signs off on final accounts for projects
  • May maintain local registrations, business, and tax licenses

Basic Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • Bachelors Degree preferred, Finance/Accounting
  • 2 - 4 years of relevant experience in Accounting/Cost Estimating or related Finance degree
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Oral and written communication skills

Pay Range (USD)

$67,760 - $125,840 annually


Pay Transparency Statement

The salary range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum for salary for this position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, internal equity, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the range during the hiring process.


Additional Compensation

Hired applicant may be eligible to participate in the Company's Gain Sharing Program.
