Job Overview

The Audiologist I provides diagnostic audiological evaluations, interventions and family/caregiver consultation and education in all settings in which audiology services are offered including but not limited to inpatient, outpatient, outreach, and telehealth programs. The Audiologist I is an entry level position in a Career Advancement Program (CAP).

Shift: At this time, we anticipate the need for coverage 7:30-6:00 on weekdays to help with coverage

Qualifications
EDUCATION - Master's degree in Audiology.
EXPERIENCE - One (1) year experience providing pediatric audiology services in pediatric setting.
CERTIFICATION(S) - Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate; Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) Certificate
LICENSURE - Current registration and licensure in Audiology by the State of Colorado; Credentialing must be completed by the Medical Staff Office (MSO) within 3 months of employment

Neonate - <30 days
Infancy - >30 days to 1 yr
Toddlers - >1 yr to 3yrs
Pre-Schoolers - >3yrs to 5yrs
School age - >5yrs to 13yrs
Adolescent - >13yrs to 18yrs
Adult - >18yrs to 65yrs

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.

1. Provides developmentally appropriate diagnostic evaluations, intervention services, and case management activities consistent with contemporary, evidence-based practice in discipline area (e.g., physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, audiology) and department quality assurance standards.
2. Collaborates with the family, physicians, schools and other educational institutions, and other providers to ensure the continuum of care for the child and optimal clinical services. All interactions are non-judgmental and based on mutual respect.
3. Evaluates and treats children from birth to 21 years of age, across the continuum, with a variety of diagnoses, in specialized programs, on inpatient and/or outpatient units. Incorporates principles of cultural-competence and family-centered care into clinical services.
4. Demonstrates leadership and participates in systematic, planned professional development to improve the clinical, educational, research, and advocacy goals of the department and hospital.
5. Assists in achieving departmental financial budget targets.
6. Completes written documentation in accordance with department standards for format, location, and time frames.

SCOPE AND LEVEL
Guidelines: Guidelines are generally numerous, well established, and directly applicable to the work assignment. Work assignment and desired results are explained by general oral or written instructions.
Complexity: Duties assigned are generally repetitive and restricted in scope but may be of substantial intricacy. Employee primarily applies standardized practices.
Decision Making: Decisions or recommendations on non-standardized situations are limited to relating organizational policies to specific cases. Brings non-routine issues to supervisor. Problems that are not covered by guidelines or are without precedent are taken up with the supervisor.
Communications: Contacts with the public or employees where explanatory or interpretive information is exchanged, gathered, or presented and some degree of discretion and judgment are required within the parameters of the job function.
Supervision Received: Under normal supervision, within a standardized work situation, the employee performs duties common to the line of work without close supervision or detailed instruction. Work product is subject to continual review.

Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.

Hourly Range: $37.82 to $56.73
