ServiceSource is seeking to a temporary Laborer for the Department of Commerce building in Washington D.C!

Position is temporary, with 39 hours / week, normal business hours. This position will not exceed 180 total hours.

This position is proud to offer a starting salary of $18.44 per hour + $4.93 per hour Health and Welfare Benefit.

Primary Duties

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review.

  • Load and unload trucks, and other conveyances.
  • Move supplies and materials to proper location by wheelbarrow or hand truck.
  • Stack materials for storage or binning, collect reuse and salvageable materials.
  • Move and arrange heavy pieces of office and household furniture, equipment, and appliances per customer request.
  • Ensure proper handling of all equipment and supplies.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain all safety requirements while performing tasks.
  • Accurately track moves, deliveries, and other requests for reporting purposes.
  • Report damages and emergency situations promptly.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s)

  • High School diploma or General Equivalency diploma (GED) required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to define problems and provide solutions.
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, prioritize and meet deadlines on a daily basis.
  • Excellent customer service skills; requires excellent verbal and written skills and ability to accept and follow directions

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
