The Safety Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing safety and environmental compliance programs to meet OSHA, DNR, DOT, and company standards. Working closely with the VP of HR and department leaders, this position plays a critical role in driving a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement health and safety plans and policies aligned with federal, state, and local regulations. -
Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, maintain required safety documentation, and oversee audits and inspections. -
Maintain and manage safety equipment and supplies, including PPE, eyewash stations, respirators, etc. -
Investigate and report workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and implement corrective actions. -
Plan, lead, and deliver new hire, annual, and refresher training in safety protocols and regulatory compliance. -
Coordinate with leadership, insurance reps, contractors, and vendors on safety initiatives and compliance issues. -
Conduct risk assessments and ensure preventive maintenance schedules are in place for equipment and machinery. -
Oversee safety committee and ERT meetings, maintain up-to-date EHS policies and GHS sheets. -
Monitor and support DOT compliance and DNR reporting for relevant staff and company vehicles. -
Evaluate and document employee safety performance and support corrective or disciplinary actions as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:

Minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment focused on health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance preferred. -
Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, MSHA, and DNR requirements. -
Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. -
Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to train, influence, and motivate at all levels. -
Highly organized with keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. -
Hands-on problem solver who can work independently and collaboratively. -
Positive attitude with a proactive and professional approach. -
Clean DMV record.
