Summary: General purpose: work with interdisciplinary professionals to identify and implement solutions augmenting health, safety, and environmental (HSE), process safety management, quality, cost control, mechanical integrity, infrastructure, facilities, process control, and product innovation. Focus should be given to bringing projects to a successful outcome while being on time, on budget, and holding to the highest engineering, safety, and regulatory standards. Activities:
- Work with operations, contractors, and vendors to develop, justify, and implement project scopes.
- Lead the design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning of equipment for ArrMaz facilities.
- Responsible for developing operating procedures and training for implemented projects.
- Upgrade existing processes and control systems.
- Identify, maintain, and manage external contractor and supplier networks for projects.
- Manage and track spending to ensure projects are done on budget and on time.
- Lead and optimize process scale-ups while applying best engineering practices.
- Be a leader in driving to a zero-injury work culture.
- Design/implement projects in accordance w/ plant, local, federal regulatory, and safety standards.
- Support and maintain the development of engineering and construction standards.
- Participate and lead problem solving efforts, using proven troubleshooting methods.
- Provide engineering support for trials, testing, & studies related to process improvements.
- Support and lead projects in satellite locations, requiring travel to other states.
- Domestic travel up to 10%, as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, required, Chemical Engineering degree strongly preferred.
- A minimum of three years' project engineering or industrial engineering experience, required.
- Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written, required
- Experience with chemical, mechanical, and electrical systems in a manufacturing environment including piping, fluid mechanics, pump mechanics, process controls and design, required
- Experience with Mechanical Integrity Program (tanks, over-pressure devices, pressure vessels, and piping systems), preferred
- Working knowledge of chemical manufacturing process equipment's, preferred.
- Working knowledge of chemical industry process safety practices, preferred.
- Working knowledge or experience with manufacturing of surfactants, preferred.
