Schedule: 9:00 pm - 7:30 am, Wednesday - Saturday

Your role with us

Ignite your leadership career as an environmental services supervisor at Salem Health. In this role, you will oversee and coordinate housekeeping staff and operations while ensuring cleanliness standards, safety protocols, and quality assurance measures are consistently upheld. As a people leader, you will facilitate staff training, performance evaluations, and proactive problem-solving while maintaining a strong focus on customer service and patient satisfaction. Supervisory duties also include scheduling, documentation, recruitment, and inventory oversight to support a well-organized and efficient department.

What you'll do

  • Staff Supervision & Assignment: Assigns personnel to work areas and projects; oversees scheduling, equipment use, and task distribution.
  • Training & Development: Ensures staff receive proper orientation, ongoing training, and are educated on safety, chemical usage, and cleaning standards.
  • Performance Monitoring & Evaluation: Conducts regular rounds to assess work quality, address deficiencies, provide feedback, and complete employee evaluations.
  • Quality Assurance & Inspections: Performs routine quality inspections and participates in the facility's Quality Assurance Program to uphold cleanliness standards.
  • Customer Service & Issue Resolution: Responds promptly to patient and staff concerns, follows up on requests, and supports satisfaction initiatives.
  • Safety & Cleanliness Compliance: Maintains safe, clean environments; reports unsafe equipment; supports departmental safety protocols and security standards.
  • Documentation & Recordkeeping: Maintains logbooks, service binders, and other documentation accurately; ensures duty lists are current.
  • Supply & Inventory Management: Oversees equipment assignments, supply control, and cleanliness of housekeeping storage areas.
  • Staffing & Recruitment: Participates in hiring processes, interviews candidates, and ensures adequate staffing coverage for operational needs.
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration: Attends staff meetings, supports housekeeping team as needed, and fosters strong working relationships across departments.

Required qualifications

  • High school Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years as a supervisor or lead in housekeeping or service-related field or equivalent experience with significant customer contact.
