New Account Sales Manager

***This is a fully remote role, BUT candidate must live within San Diego metroplex.

The New Account Sales Manager is a technical and commercial expert dedicated to acquiring new accounts for Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence's metrology product lines, including Articulated Arm Measurement Systems, Automated Measurement Systems, and Trackers. This outside sales role focuses exclusively on identifying and securing new customers within a defined sales territory, championing the "Hexagon Advantage" to ensure customer needs are met with appropriate Hexagon products and services. The New Account Sales Manage operates within the Commercial Operations organization in North America, reporting directly to a Commercial Operations Manager. The role emphasizes aggressive prospecting, market analysis, and strategic development of new business opportunities to drive growth and increase market share.

The New Account Sales Manager's primary duties include generating new business, developing long-term strategies for territory expansion, and delivering profitable orders through consultative sales. This high-level, complex sales role requires professionalism, technical aptitude, and the ability to build rapport with decision-makers at various levels within prospective customer organizations. The role requires close collaboration with internal departments, including Applications, Service, Marketing, Product Management, and Production, to ensure seamless customer onboarding.

The New Account Sales Manage must use Salesforce.com (SFDC) as the primary Customer Relationship Management tool, maintaining an accurate database, responding promptly to leads, and using SFDC tools for reliable forecasting and quoting via CPQ systems. Compliance with corporate standards, including ethics, travel, export policies, and CRM requirements, is mandatory. The role demands high standards for product knowledge, customer satisfaction, and sales professionalism.

Job Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities




  • Secure new accounts within the assigned territory, delivering profitable orders.
  • Prospect and identify new customers through market research, cold calling, networking, and industry events, leveraging technical expertise to perform effective product demonstrations.
  • Use Salesforce.com to monitor and advance the sales process, maintaining accurate records, responding to leads promptly, and providing reliable forecasting.
  • Act consultatively with prospective customers to develop valuable solutions, fostering relationships that position Hexagon as a trusted partner.
  • Champion the "Hexagon Advantage" by advocating for new customers during the sales process, ensuring high satisfaction from initial contact through contract signing.
  • Support distribution channels within the assigned geographic area to generate new account opportunities.
  • Develop and execute long-term plans for territory expansion, identifying untapped markets and industries for Hexagon products.
  • Monitor local market trends, customer needs, and industry developments, relaying insights to the Commercial Operations Manager to position products proactively.
  • Collaborate with Product Sales Managers, Application Engineering, and other departments to ensure efficient processing of inquiries, quotations, and proposals for new accounts.
  • Provide reliable, real-time monthly, quarterly, and yearly forecasts to support resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with Hexagon's ethics expectations, code of conduct, and policies related to safety, environmental protection, and housekeeping.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance safety, quality, and productivity within the sales process.

Qualifications


  • Qualifications



    • Minimum- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, preferably with technical training.
    • Five plus years of sales experience in an industrial environment, with a strong record of sustained success.
    • Familiarity with AI tools and technologies, including AI-driven CRM analytics, predictive sales models, or automated lead generation systems, to enhance prospecting and customer engagement.
    • Strong Metrology background and aptitude.
    • Team oriented, with the ability to work successfully within a small group.
    • Salesforce.com experience.
    • Willingness to travel considerably, up to 75%.
