Position Description:
As a Postdoctoral Appointment Researcher, you will be have the following primary responsibilities:
- Design and perform laboratory procedures and experiments with supervision including aiding in design and creation of optical instrumentation, modification of software, and construction of a custom optical coherence tomograph
- Manage and operate laboratory equipment with supervision.
- Optical design, determining and ordering necessary equipment and parts
- Participate in meetings with principal investigator and research staff. Coordinate with external collaborators to implement optical principles and construct instrumentation.
Knowledge - Skills - Abilities
- Required knowledge: optics, light safety, mathematics, statistics, documentation, records management, data utilization, complex problem solving, critical thinking, resource management, and writing skills
- Skills and abilities: Ability to modify optical systems including placement and alignment of optical elements. Synthesis of software packages with optical hardware.

Minimum education: Doctorate degree
Minimum experience: At least one year of experience working with optical systems
