Job Description

This position will be the point of contact for military and veteran students, ensuring their VA benefits are properly processed and in place. Missouri S&T has over 250 military affiliated students that are receiving benefits. Additionally, this role involves supporting the food pantry and clothing closet at the Engagement House and working closely with the Success Navigator to provide intrusive advising and holistic support to Trailblazer students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service as the campus veteran representatives for all campus students' benefits
  • Work with our military students and families to ensure veterans; benefits are processed in a timely manner and in accordance with all rules and regulations by the federal government and campus policies
  • Attend yearly conference on Veteran Affairs, be certified by the VA and be part of the University of Missouri four-campus VA team
  • Provide individualized support and intrusive advising to First Generation College Students facing various issues to include academic difficulties, financial concerns, housing insecurity, basic needs and personal challenges
  • Serve as a liaison between students and various campus resources, including academic advising, financial aid, housing and counseling services
  • Develop, implement and evaluate student support programs and initiatives that promote student engagement among Military/Veteran students
  • Track and analyze student service data to inform improvements
  • Manage the Military/Veteran Center's website and recommend improvements and enhancements
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $52,223-$54,800 annually.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
