Principal Consultant, Azure Cloud Platform

Location: Adelaide, South Australia

This is a hybrid opportunity where you will require to work in our Adelaied office or on client-site a few days a week or as arranged with your manager.

About the role

Leadership: The Manager for this role isPaulListo.Paulis based in Brisbane and leads our Cloud Platform practice. A dedicated Microsoft technologist throughout his career,Paulenjoys keeping up to date with the latest technology trends, while also leading and mentoring his team and sharing his expertise with his clients.

As a Principal Consultant with Insight, you are a trusted advisor by clients. Our Principal Consultants act as the technical lead on projects, overseeing a number of Technical/Delivery Consultants on larger engagements. You will also be responsible for assisting with the development of Intellectual Property (IP) in your expertise areas.

As a hands-on Principal Consultant you will get to:

  • Act as leader for the differentiation of Insight's technical capability.
  • Work with our customers to understand functional and business requirements and make appropriate technology and architecture recommendations.
  • Develop solution knowledge and share this IP both locally and Asia Pacific wide.
  • Focus on assisting the practice team to meet the Services Practice's financial target.
  • Provide input to the definition and architecture of client centric solutions.
  • Assist with client proposals and engage early on in the client planning and solution definition phase.
  • Working together with Account Managers and Project Managers, define the roadmap and milestones for each project, and the required involvement of delivery teams.
  • Responsible for the delivery of solutions against pre-agreed specifications.
  • Effective interaction with AM/PM to ensure technical delivery to client expectations and satisfaction.
  • On all engagements the Principal Consultant will own the proposed solution, oversee the Delivery Consultant team members and remain engaged with the client.
  • Lead, guide and mentor Delivery Consultant team members.
  • Take responsibility as the technical representative of Insight within strategic accounts to develop strong client relationships and identify opportunities for Insight.
  • Develop profile as a technical leader in a Insight specialist solution area

We are looking for a hands-on Principal Consultant with the following capabilities:

Consultative:

  • Substantial experience in technical roles within a Services environment.
  • Ability to map client's business needs to Insight's technology solution offerings.
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong client relationships.
  • Ability to engage and lead a team of Delivery Consultant team members
  • Excellent written (documentation) and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven analysis skills with the ability to work with a client to understand requirements, define and present appropriate solution, and oversee delivery of a solution to the client.
  • Comfortable with presenting and communicating technical solutions.
  • A team player willing to develop and share IP within the organization
  • Experienced delivering strategic consultancy services including application landscape maturity assessments, roadmaps and technology platform evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain effective customer and user relationships, including representing Insight at conferences, User Groups and other marketing/PR activities as appropriate

Technical:

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in designing, building and implementing Microsoft solutions based around Azure IaaS and PaaS
  • Knowledge and understanding of foundational security and networking principals
  • Azure DevOps experience
  • Identity and Access Management experience (Microsoft Entra / Active Directory Domain Services)
  • Experience in Applications Migration and Modernisation programs of work
  • Understanding of modern Azure platform architectures for data warehousing, applications, and integrations along with their delivery practices and tools will be highly regarded.
  • Experience with Enterprise Mobility and Security (Intune / SCCM / Conditional Access) will be highly regarded.
  • Experience with Platform deployments including Containers and Kubernetes will be highly regarded
  • MS Certifications (Azure Solutions Architect Expert is highly regarded)
