CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: SUPERVISORY:
- Ensure that required standards of performance of all assigned personnel are consistently maintained.
- Counsel and assist employees in negotiating business issues, opportunities, problems and programs with internal and external customers.
- Develop employees to work successfully and independently of their manager.
- Actively participate in the interviewing and selection process for direct reports and, if applicable, for indirect reports.
- Train all direct reports according to company guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Establish realistic and attainable objectives/goals for subordinates.
- Use positive feedback and benefit statements to coach and direct all areas of work, both strengths and weaknesses. Positively challenge assigned employees to grow.
SALES DUTIES:
- Recommend market-pricing changes within district.
- Authorize and approve district sales and marketing plans complementary to region and company.
- Analyze customer and business problems and opportunities, and unemotionally negotiate alternative solutions in areas of service, quality, pricing and representation.
- Creatively uncover new sales opportunities at all accounts and persist with unique and creative alternatives until a satisfactory result is found using initiative and ingenuity. Novel methods and ideas are customized to the needs of customers and company, yet always with the approval of management and in keeping with the company philosophy.
- Link together or bridge different aspects of customers and marketplace to identify needs, motive and solutions.
- Complete a semi-annual review on performance of territory and self with explanation of what happened and why it happened introspectively. Establish "results oriented" action plans based on the semi-annual review.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- At least 3 years of outside sales experience
- At least 2 years of personnel management experience. This experience must be within the last 2 years
- Experience working within the foodservice industry is preferred
- Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
- Should reside within Orlanda or Tampa metroa area
- Ability to travel overnight.
