The National Sales Manager, Strategic Contractors - is responsible for leading the nationwide sales efforts of Watts Eng./Spec Products targeting National Contractors and Strategic entities to support the complete Watts family of brands. He/she will work in concert with the RSMs, BDMs, Manufacturer's Representatives, and specialized distribution channels. In addition, the NSM is charged with developing sales plans and strategies to meet corporate short-and long-term goals. The person in this role is the primary point of contact to our National Contracting partners and must build effective and sustainable business relationships.

NSM, Strategic Contractors has Perimeter Leadership Responsibilities that include but are not limited to: NPD Research & VOC Coordination, Marquee Project Negotiations, Contract Management, Highlighting New Product Launches, Piloting Corporate Strategic Initiatives and Proof of Concept Opportunities, Portfolio Socialization (i.e., Bradley, LDS, Nexa), Coordinating Executive Top to Top Meetings at Watts Global Headquarters.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Meet, or exceed, annual sales targets. Create sales plans/strategies and key account plans.
  • Identify and track projects, from planning through purchasing and communicating with the Director of Strategic Accounts, manufacturer's representatives, and industry stakeholders.
  • Support manufacturer's representatives as large-scale projects are procured and delivered.
  • National Contractor branch Operating Company visitation and B2B collaboration development.
  • Educate National Contractors and their operating companies on Watts products, solutions, services, expanding verticals, and R&D development.
  • Secure and maintain preferred vendor status for the Nation's Top 50 National Contractors.
  • Identify landmark projects and their potential. Work to convert/specify Watts and see the projects through to fruition. Highlight the successes and methodology to replicate.
  • Assist the Engineering team to gain specifications for Watts's products and provide supporting resources/documentation/BIM library.
  • Develop and execute, in concert with the Regional Directors, promotional sales programs as required to highlight the Watts brands.
  • Clearly communicate Watts messaging to agents, contractors, engineers, and distributors.
  • Communicate (VOC) with Product Mgmt. for advantages/disadvantages in market.
  • Presenting to large groups in person, virtually, and/or at Watts primary or agent locations.
  • Captain trainings at the Watts Works Learning Centers with contractors and influencers.
  • Consolidate market/field intel for Director Level Updates and RSM awareness.
  • Attend tradeshows/industry events, facilitate trainings, and engage customer locations - foot in the door attitude.
  • Review/assess sales nationwide and monitor risks & opportunities, conduct quarterly business reviews with Director of Strategic Accounts.
  • Periodic reporting to the Directors/ALT on market activity, trends, verticals, and brand strength.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree, MBA preferred (preferably in a technical discipline)

MANAGEMENT:

No direct reports, but manages Top 25 National MEP Contracting firms, and coordinates with RSM's, NSM's, and Manufacturing Representatives nationwide.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • At least Five Years of experience in Regional or National Sales Management / Traveling role
  • Team Building and Management Experience, Superior Communication Skills
  • Demonstrated ability in Construction Acumen / Project Management / Eng. Specification Process
  • Has experience pertaining to Mech. Contracting and Verticals within the Watts' product categories
  • Presenting to various Industry Stakeholder Groups / Facility Managers / Key Decision Makers
  • Travel +70%
