Responsibilities

Sabre Systems is currently recruiting for a Junior Engineer (Model-Based Systems), to support the Systems Engineering Department (SED) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. The program is providing systems engineering support of weapons systems on various platforms including technical research and development of technologies, analysis, and documentation as part of the acquisition of Aircraft, Weapon, and Integrated Systems and the evaluation of their technical performance, mission suitability and associated acquisition risks throughout the full acquisition process and lifecycle of a program.

The selected candidate will be responsible for not limited to:

  • Support UAS engineering projects, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and industry best practices. Projects include payloads, sensors, airborne data communication
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and unmanned air vehicle solutions.
  • Evaluate systems and recommend design modifications or repairs.
  • Innovate and integrate advanced technologies
  • Provide technical guidance and assistance when needed.
  • Create, update, and submit data and technical writing products
  • Facilitate or host meetings/ briefings as needed by the APME/ APMSE, or as needed by other team members of the PMA
  • Applies engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate military weapons systems.
  • Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.
  • Applies systems engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices.
  • Experience with how system requirements, design, analysis, verification and validation activities are enabled by MBSE across the digital thread (the engineering lifecycle).
  • Requires an experience with systems engineering and of model-based methodologies. Experience with the use of SysML.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Must have a bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university. Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
  • Experience using MBSE Tools, such as Cameo System Modeler, Cameo Enterprise Architect, Teamwork Cloud, and Cameo Collaborator.
  • Must have completed a SysML modeling language course.
  • Demonstrated experience in an area of engineering expertise is required.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and technical writing skills with a proven ability to innovate
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher.
  • Must be a US Citizen
