Kratos has a new opportunity for a Technical Advisor for the CCS-C satellite ground system, with a primary focus on maintaining consistent baseline configurations across the program, especially as related to security tools. This role is primarily a Systems/Security Administration role that includes supporting MILSATCOM operations at Schriever and Peterson SFB, with occasional travel to additional operational and test locations as needed. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring system health, performance, and configuration integrity across distributed environments. Responsibilities include managing and maintaining COTS applications, custom software, and satellite mission data products, while preparing systems for future upgrades and technology integration, to include hardware support. This position may operate in a hybrid deployment/operations capacity, bridging legacy sustainment with emerging mission requirements. Candidates should have strong experience in both Windows and Linux system administration, along with foundational security tools knowledge and experience deploying custom software in secure environments. Due to the nature of the work, an active DoD security clearance (or eligibility to obtain one) is required. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as the candidate will interface regularly with both government and contractor teams.

Primary responsibilities



  • Maintain and monitor baseline configurations for security tools and systems across multiple system sites, ensuring consistency, stability, and compliance with operational standards.
  • Provide day-to-day system administration support for both Windows and Linux environments, including patching, account management, and service monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues impacting system performance or availability
  • Deploy, configure, and support COTS applications, custom-developed software, and satellite-specific data products across operational environments
  • Collaborate with hardware, deployment, and cybersecurity teams to implement upgrades, security enhancements, and new mission capabilities
  • Utilize both Atlassian (Jira/Confluence) and the MFR/MPR database to track tickets, document procedures, and communicate system status updates
  • Provide root cause analysis and performance tuning for system stability and efficiency.
  • Support test automation, validation, and verification efforts, integrating system test methodologies into sustainment processes.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles to support team operations.
  • This position is based in Colorado Springs, CO, at Schriever Space Force Base (SSFB).

Required Experience:

  • Five years of experience in operations support, cybersecurity and/or and IT systems
  • Strong background in the Command and Control - Consolidated (CCS-C) system and associated satellite programs is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with the government sustainment lifecycle, along with relevant experience in cybersecurity, development, testing, engineering, and integration, is preferred
  • Must be able to effectively communicate technical concepts both orally and in writing to government and military customers and users
  • Self-motivation and leadership capabilities are essential
  • The selected applicant will undergo a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
  • U.S. citizenship is required


Preferred Skills and Experience



  • Experience with CCS-C and associated satellite systems is highly desirable.
  • Strong background in maintaining and sustaining IT systems is preferred, particularly in an operational and/or test environment.
  • Familiarity with system administration, troubleshooting, and deployment processes is beneficial.
  • Experience working with technologies such as Oracle, MySQL, Java/C++, Networking/Cisco, Linux, Windows, Active Directory, Docker/Kubernetes, NAS/SAN, VMware, and Ansible is a plus.
  • Candidates with a system deployment/operations/test background who can apply their expertise to system administration, sustainment, and troubleshooting will be well suited for this role.

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Competitive salary based on experience and education
Salary Range: $100,000-$115,000
