Posting Summary
The Izgu research lab in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Rutgers University-New Brunswick is seeking applications for a postdoctoral research position. The postdoc will be responsible for conducting interdisciplinary projects funded by the NIH, National Institute of General Medical Sciences. These projects involve the synthesis and biological applications of molecular tools (small molecules and oligonucleotides) to establish new-generation therapeutics. The postdoc will also be responsible for mentoring and academic writing. Consideration for the postdoc position will be given to candidates with proven expertise in nucleic acids chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and/or chemical biology. Applicants should be exceptionally driven and self-motivated individuals with the highest commitment to excellence in scholarship.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
PhD degree in Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or Biology at the time of the appointment.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Substantial research experience with bioactive small molecules and/or nucleic acids. Strong publication record. Strong communication, writing, and mentoring skills.
