Role Snapshot
Our Senior Process Automation Developer designs, develops, implements and maintains automation solutions to streamline and improve business processes. This developer will partner with business stakeholders and users to understand process requirements, document process flows, and identify automation opportunities. This role requires strong coding skills (C#, VB.NET, VBA, SQL), and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows. Will participate in an on-call rotation and assist in research for issue resolution.

Salary Range

$100,000 ~ 145,000
The base pay offered for this position may vary within the posted range based on your job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and may fall outside of this range.

Employees within 45 miles of WPS Headquarters (1717 W. Broadway in Madison, WI) will be expected to be able to be able to work Hybrid 2 days a week on a regular basis.

  • Have experience optimizing automation performance by analyzing and improving the speed and efficiency of automated processes.
  • Develop resources for users to understand and utilize automated solutions.
  • Enjoy maintaining expertise in process automation technologies, best practices, and emerging automation trends.
  • Have provided leadership, expertise, and solutions on complex initiatives including all projects and maintenance work.
  • Would like to serve as subject matter expert and mentor for staff in the process automation development team.
  • Possess strong experience with the ASP.NET framework, SQL Server and design/architectural patterns (e.g. Model-View-Controller (MVC)).
  • Understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards.
  • Hands on experience with web applications and programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and API's.
  • Hands on design experience with Web Services (REST, SOAP).
  • Interested in working in a highly secure environment.
  • Have a passion for development and solving problems creatively and independently.

Minimum Qualifications



  • Lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years. (due to existing WPS government contract)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
  • 5 or more years of experience in a software development role.
  • Extensive knowledge with various programming languages (i.e., C#, VB.NET, .NET, SQL).
  • Strong experience with Excel, VBA, and GIT.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications



  • 2 or more years of experience creating Automated workflow processes within a corporate enterprise environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in process automation tools and technologies.
  • Mainframe terminal automation / screen scraping.
  • Self-motivated, able to collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience writing SQL Server Queries and stored procedures.
  • Experience developing web services using JSON and SOAP, WCF or WebAPI.
  • Experience developing in ASP.Net or HTML5.
  • Diverse technical exposure with Browser automation, REST API, Azure DevOps, OnBase, Windows Server.
