This is an exciting job opportunity for you to light the way as a Lead Development Engineer - App in Menlo Park, California with Signify to oversee the mobile application extension of the Philips Hue ecosystem, one of the world's leading consumer smart home ecosystems, as it moves into a new domain of home interactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for developing, testing, and shipping mobile application components using the Flutter framework to integrate a new line of products into the broader hue ecosystem.

  • Serve as a part of a multidisciplinary team (App, Cloud, Embedded) that together builds new Philips Hue products end-to-end.

  • Represent the Hue App in the system design by working out app-related design decisions and specifications based on the knowledge of its capabilities and limits.

  • Recommend hiring decisions for new app developers and serve as a mentor for other app developers in the team, by ensuring quality of their work and helping them improve their skills.

  • Closely collaborate with other functions, including QA and product management, as well as engineers from partner companies and suppliers, to jointly optimize our product experience.

  • Perform data analysis, identify improvement opportunities, and provide input to steer the product roadmap.

  • Local telecommuting permitted.

What you'll need- Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies

While we value and appreciate all applicants, we believe that the following experience and skills will be needed to shine brightly in this job opening:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Development, Information Technology, related Engineering disciples, or a related field of study (or foreign equivalent) and 7 years of related experience required.

  • Alternatively, a Master's degree and 5 years of related experience.

  • Experience must include one (1) year of:

  • Software development and definition for mobile applications, including shipping large-scale high-quality applications to consumers;

  • Cross-platform (iOS+Android) mobile development using Flutter mobile application framework;

  • iOS native development and integration with Flutter using platform channels;

  • Managing Mobile application state using Redux architectural pattern and Provider package;

  • Test Automation development using UI, widget, unit and integration testing;

  • DevOps, maintaining Continuous Integration and Delivery over Bitrise and using tools including Fastlane;

  • IoT experience, communicating with devices over several wireless protocols such as BLE, WebSockets, MQTT and HTTP;

  • Mobile UI development, interpreting UX flow designs over Figma, enabling accessibility features;

  • Developing analytics features, via tools including Sentry, Braze, Firebase crashlytics and Amplitude;

  • Serving as Scrum master, leading scrum rituals including stand-up, backlog refinement, sprint planning and retrospectives.

Salary: $179,503 to $235,500
