Overview

The VIRGINIA Class Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) Electrical Engineering group has an opening for a highly motivated experienced engineer to join us as a team member in the area of cableways and cable routing installation.

Responsibilities include:

    Lead coordination efforts between system engineering, major area team leaders, program office, design and engineering, and leadership
  • Lead coordination efforts between multi-system engineering groups and arrangements design
  • Perform non-standard cableway hanger analysis
  • Perform relative movement calculations, concepts, arrangement validation, cableway development, and cable routing development
  • Support selling ship's arrangements to the government
  • Candidate must be organized and able to manage relationship between ships requirements and arrangement compliance
  • Responsible for cost and schedule performance of assigned tasks
  • Responsible for managing multiple projects and/or assigned tasks
  • Responsible for developing and presenting system information/status as the design progresses
  • Develop and peer review ERs /CNs

Candidates must be highly motivated, work independently and be able to positively interact with other engineering disciplines, vendors, design and the government.



Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • 0-2 years of engineering experience

Preferred:

  • Background and experience working and/or interfacing with the construction and planning yards
  • Experience with any of the following: DC power supply design, cathodic protection theory, electric field theory, magnetic field theory, software development, electronics design, lighting, communications
  • Experience with fatigue/stress analysis specifically with using Commands software.
  • Familiarity with TeamCenter / Vismock / Catia /CDM
  • Familiarity with systems engineering principals
