Project and Policy Manager

The Project and Policy Manager oversees a diverse work portfolio tied to projects of the Institute for Population Health (IPH) at Creighton. The primary focus will be on designing processes and then supporting projects that increase IPH impact and expand its footprint. IPH projects will work directly with target communities and in partnership with community-based organizations addressing a range of health disparities, as well as within healthcare settings. This position requires a highly collaborative approach to design and execute project plans with a range of stakeholders. The manager will also support IPH work in evidence-based health policy, and implementation of IPH data management systems that facilitate its results-based strategies. Finally, the manager will be expected to collaborate with IPH and Creighton leadership to implement department and university-wide initiatives. While there is no formal staff supervision involved, the Project and Policy Manager will provide oversight and support to student interns and volunteers.

This position and its responsibilities will evolve as IPH initiatives expand and adapt. As population health needs and opportunities emerge, the Manager will practice strategic thinking and planning and will partner with IPH leadership to respond accordingly.

  • Supports the development, implementation, and monitoring of projects in the Institute including: coordinating and contributing to IPH evaluation efforts, researching population health topics, managing project data collection, conducting project contracting, invoicing, and associated communications, tracks project progress, addresses challenges and supports a high level of responsiveness to IPH clients and partners.
  • Partners with IPH leadership to develop and expand IPH efforts to inform and impact state and federal health policy.
  • Supports IPH leadership with Institute policies. Contributes to execution of IPH strategic plan, including associated data collection and reporting, planning and delivering staff meetings and trainings, and other duties as determined by leadership.
  • Coordinates student interns and volunteers as assigned by IPH leadership, ensuring both high quality services are provided to stakeholders and students and volunteers expand their skills in population health initiatives.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelors' Degree Required. Master's Degree (MBA, MPH, related degree) preferred or a minimum of five to seven years of progressively responsible experience working in various functional areas, such as operations, research and analysis, project management, strategic planning, business process engineering or quality improvement.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Preferred experience with coordinating or leading project teams from inception through implementation and sustainability phases, and convening and managing collaboratives consisting of diverse stakeholders within and across organizations.
  • Preferred experience in administrative and leadership positions related to Population Health activities.
  • Effective communicator, orally and in writing, excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work cooperatively with colleagues, leaders, community partners, and staff at all levels.
  • Must have the ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and adhere to timelines.
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
