Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Project Coordinator.

In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for providing a range of project coordination activities for a lab focused on improving healthcare quality for people with disabilities. Works with internal and external parties and collaborators, including people with disabilities, to organize the various components needed to initiate, run and complete major projects. Promotes, coordinates and supports the development and implementation of programmatic and research projects. Facilitates the administration process of departmental activities (e.g., work with external collaborators; maintain lab website and other external communications such as listserv and newsletters; coordinate internal and external seminars, meetings and presentations; assists with grant application preparation and submission; compiling and monitoring the master schedule for meetings; contribute to the planning and growth of programs; lead and participate in report writing, development of tools and dissemination activities).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination - Provides coordination for project activities, that includes but not limited to: coordination of project while working/communicating with internal and external partners to organize and coordinate the various components needed to initiate, run and conclude project activities. Develops project schedules, prepares, process, and tracks project related purchase/supplies requisitions, reimbursements, expense reports, and related invoice payments.
  • Reports - Independently prepare and review documents and generate reports for ongoing and pending projects which may include moderate analysis/synthesis of findings. Outlines agenda, plans and prepares presentations, and composes a variety of memos and letters. Reviews, edits, obtain appropriate approvals. Responds to routine correspondences and refers non routine items to the appropriate party. Follow protocols as defined by the lab, department and Medical Center policies and procedures.
  • Communications and products - Develop and maintain external communications such as listserv and newsletters. Maintain lab website. Participate in the development of tools and resources to disseminate to key partners. Coordinate dissemination activities to external partners. Assist in building partnerships with community organizations and other key partners.
  • Scheduling & Coordinating - Organizes and coordinates schedules, activities and special events. Coordinates webinar, seminar and other internal and external presentations and other related activities. May assist in special events planning.
  • Participates in special Projects and performs other duties as required.
  • Research Activities- Participate in data collection and analysis activities as appropriate, including qualitative and survey data collection and analysis. Assists in manuscript and abstract development and submission. Gathers and collects data from different parties and presents findings as applicable.
  • Grants -May participate in grants related activities such as developing grants applications/proposals and fundraising activities if applicable. Collects and organizes required paperwork for grant submission and maintenance. Follows up and coordinates resolution of all issues.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor degree or equivalent in business administration, health care administration, public health or related field and 3-5 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience and knowledge of working with the disability community.
Excellent written and oral communication skills applicable to a wide variety of audiences.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to interpret and implement policies and procedures, and effectively communicate detailed information to a diverse population, including people with disabilities, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to exercise discretion, good independent judgment, and independent thinking in selecting the optimal course of action.
Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and must work and communicate effectively with both internal and external partners.
Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications.
Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently.
Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure.
Ability to Project/Program manage and to multitask while paying attention to details.

Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have experience working in the healthcare setting; knowledge and expertise in disability accessibility, including relevant laws and policies; experience with grant writing for a variety of funders; experience working with policy makers and healthcare leadership; and experience leading and organizing meetings with diverse partners.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $64,350.00 - $90,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
