Job Summary

This role is within CG's IT Enterprise Applications function. A successful incumbent is expected to (i) Design, develop, test, implement, and support application functionality, within the extended SAP application ecosystem and (ii) Work with functional analysts and stakeholders to understand functional requirements; contribute to completion of functional specifications; create technical design specifications for highly complex solutions. Education requirements include: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or equivalent; Experience requirements include: 10 years experience as an application developer in an SAP environment; experience on at least one full life cycle development project from design through post-go-live support; 7+ years experience in environments with application integration requirements such as CRM, e-Commerce, Supply Chain Planning, Manufacturing and Logistics

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, implement, and support application functionality, within the extended SAP application ecosystem

  • Work with functional analysts and stakeholders to understand functional requirements; contribute to completion of functional specifications; create technical design specifications for highly complex solutions, including solutions within many different SAP modules and solutions that integrate business processes and data between and across SAP and non-SAP applications within the Chamberlain applications ecosystem

  • Develop highly complex solutions to meet functional and technical designs following best practices and development standards and guidelines

  • Create standard Software Development Lifecycle deliverables for high complexity projects such as functional and technical specifications, use cases, test cases, test scripts, etc., following Chamberlain Group standards

  • Unit test application changes to ensure quality of work; define code standards and lead code reviews; analyze, debug, and resolve defects in applications

  • Support and optimize production systems; proactively work to analyze and resolve production problems in a timely manner; resolve end user service requests; lead production support processes including identification of issue severity, root cause, and path to resolution

  • Performance-tune and optimize code to ensure efficiency and meet service levels

  • Plan and manage small to medium sized projects leveraging appropriate project management methodology

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to application developers

  • Proactively evaluate and understand new SAP and related application technologies, and learn / adopt / integrate into Chamberlain development processes as applicable

  • Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.

  • Protect Chamberlain Group's reputation by keeping information confidential.

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or equivalent

Experience:

  • 10 years experience as an application developer in an SAP environment; experience on at least two or more full life cycle development project from design through post-go-live support; 7+ years experience in environments with application integration requirements such as e-commerce, logistics and shipping

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Outstanding skills in systems analysis, problem analysis, debugging, troubleshooting, and technical error resolution across multiple technologies. Can organize and lead teams to analyze/debug/resolve problems.

  • Leading knowledge of SDLC; able to manage a complex solution from design through development, testing, and deployment including change management, communications and training; identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the SDLC.

  • Recognized "go-to" resource for technical design; considered an indispensable partner by IT colleagues; can lead technical design discussions, develop a point of view, and recommend solutions based on experience and industry best practices.

  • Expertise in data analysis; strong knowledge of application data models, able to analyze data to answer questions.

  • Project Management: Able to create project plans and manage execution for small to medium sized, moderately complex technical solutions.

  • Communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal communications; can articulate a point of view and drive to a decision.

  • Technical expertise in many of the following SAP skills: IDOCS, ALE, LSMW, RFC's, Enhancement Framework (Implicit and Explicit Enhancements), User Exits, BAPI's, SAP EDI, BADI's, Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, Sap script, CMOD, SMOD, ABAP Query, ABAP Dictionary, Classes and Methods, ALV, VOFM Routines, BTE's, Workflow, Performance and tuning, Screen and Menu Painter, SPAU and SPDD

  • Strong functional knowledge in multiple SAP modules e.g. SD, MM, PP, F, CO

  • Expertise in developing interfaces between SAP systems and various third-party systems

  • Previous experience with REST and/or SOAP-based web services and API-oriented architecture a plus

  • SAP S/4HANA Implementation experience is a plus

The payrange/rate of pay for this position is $97,700.00 - $184,175.00; base payoffered may vary depending on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. In addition to base pay, also offered is a comprehensive benefits package and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).This position is eligible for participation in a short-term incentive plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
