Overview
Title: Program Security Officer (PSO) Organization: US Space Force, Space Systems Command (SSC), Space Sensing (SN) Directorate Location: Boulder Ground Innovation Facility (BGIF), Boulder, Colorado Salary Range 100k - 125k Job Overview: Astrion is currently seeking a Program Security Officer (PSO) to support our customer in Boulder, Colorado. This requires a Top Secret clearance (SCI Eligible) and is 5 days onsite (no remote work). The PSO oversees and manages all compliance of security, including physical, personnel, and information security. Ensuring adherence to national, DoD, and other security policies and regulations. Providing security briefings, training, and refreshers for personnel. Provide support for proposing, coordinating, implementing and enforcing information systems security policies, standards and methodologies. Your talents, perspectives, and efforts will contribute directly to the safeguarding of valuable intelligence systems and data, guaranteeing positive mission outcomes. This position is located in Boulder, Colorado and requires level of effort across multiple domains and security classification levels. Duties to include, but are not limited to: * Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining security programs that protect information and operations commensurate with the program's classification level. Conduct periodic reviews and evaluations of required IS policies and procedures * Maintaining a secure environment, ensuring compliance with security regulations, and safeguarding sensitive information for the BGIF and all the tenants assigned to the site * Ensure compliance with all relevant security regulations, directives, and policies. Conduct self-inspections, provide security education and training to personnel with also tracking annual compliance. Provide oversite for BGIF compliance of managing the control and handling of classified documents * Be assigned as the Command Support Staff Representative for the BGIF. Opening job tickets for NIPRNet and SIPRNet users, track required paperwork with training, provisioning accounts and the basic troubleshooting of before mentioned systems. Assist with system and network issues with VOIP unclass phones connected to NIPRNet systems * As the Information Technology (IT) Equipment Custodian for NIPRNet and SIPRNet assets, conduct annual equipment inventory, request new desktops, laptops, printers to government as needed. Adhere to the Base Equipment Custodial Officer policies for sanitization and turn-in of unserviceable IT to Buckley SFB, CO * Participate in BGIF project Site Survey meetings to provide security concurrence for new IT or the movement of equipment, updating local diagrams accordingly. * Be assigned the local COMSEC Responsible Officer (CRO)/Secure Voice Responsible Officer program. Maintain appointment letter, all accountability paperwork, Standard Operation Procedure, Requirements Letter, monthly safe checks, monthly security access validation, load cryptographic keying material, semi-annual reading, semi-annual Emergency Action Plan dry runs and semi-annual Base COMSEC inspections * Account Management Support for system enclaves. Ensuring all Network User Agreements, current Cyber Awareness Challenge Training and System Access Authorization Requests are on file. Authorize creation of account and perform audits of dormant accounts * Data Transfer Agent support for users ensuring the processes, documentation and training is adhered to. Maintain list of authorized users and removable media log for auditing and security. Assist customers with data transfers as needed * Serve as the local liaison or contributor to the Insider Threat Program. Monitor and report behaviors of concern, and ensure personnel are trained to recognize and report suspicious activity * Coordinate and lead responses to security violations or compromises (physical, cyber, or classified spillage). Draft and submit preliminary inquiries, damage assessments, and coordinate with the appropriate Security Incident Reporting authorities * Oversee local compliance with TEMPEST requirements and assist with any facility TEMPEST zoning and accreditation documentation, working with appropriate EMSEC personnel. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: * Education: Degree in engineering or related technical field (Required). Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for degree requirement. Education equivalent per contract: 4 years work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree. (Required) * Experience: 4+ years of experience working Program Security Officer or similar experiences as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO). (Required) * Valid Security+ CE Certification or equivalent. Must meet position and certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive 8140 for Information Assurance Technical Level 2. (Required) * Familiarity with COMSEC Responsible Officer and Secure Voice Responsible Officer duties. (Desired) * Familiarity with Program Security responsibilities to include but not limited to: OPSEC, Program Protection, Personnel Security clearances, Security Training and Education, Classification management.
