Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will act as the Global Business Line Controller for Ports Electrification & Ports Service. As a key member of the Business Line management team, you will play an active role in shaping strategic decisions and enhancing performance. You will support effective business decision-making by monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting financial data, evaluating various business alternatives, and recommending solutions that enhance growth and profitability. You will also ensure the quality and accuracy of financial reporting, making sure practices align with company policies, external regulations, and accounting standards.

The most suitable applicant blends sharp analytical acumen and leadership skills, maintaining a cooperative attitude and the capability to liaise effectively across various functions in a lively workplace.

Preferred locations: Vasteras, Sweden; Oslo,Norway; Helsinki, Finland; Houston or Miramar, US.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Managing financial management and full P&L responsibility for the Global Business Line Ports, including monthly closings, forecasting, and annual planning, while ensuring transparency and compliance with all regulations and standards.
  • Supporting Global and Local BL's business strategies, providing financial guidance to align with strategic goals.
  • Managing Ports performance by reviewing KPIs, supporting the "gap to close" process, and providing insights for improved operational decision-making.
  • Establishing cost structures, optimizing productivity, and monitoring cash flow to improve net working capital.
  • Preparing insightful financial reports and presentations for management, and other stakeholders to support forward-looking decisions.
  • Ensure robust governance, risk management, and internal controls are in place and consistently applied across the business.
  • Develop and implement reliable financial data and business intelligence tools to enable accurate and timely reporting and analytics.
  • Assessing business risk exposure and defining risk mitigation strategies for reducing impact on business performance and ensuring that risk management processes are consistently implemented.

Qualifications for the role
  • Master's degree in economics, business administration, accounting or finance.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience as Controller in similar industry and interest to learn about Ports business.
  • Knowledge of International Accounting Standards, US GAAP, SAP.
  • High integrity and compliance mindset.
  • Strong analytical skills, organized and success driven.
  • Skilled in conceptual and vision building.
  • Motivating and empowering leader with the ability to inspire people.
  • If located in US, you hold valid US VISA/work permit.
