Corporate Safety Manager  Locations: Chicago, IL (Home Office), Las Vegas, NV, Northern CA, or Southern CA Build a Safer Future with Us Join one of the nation's leading 100% employee-owned specialty contractors. At Anning-Johnson Company, we self-perform across multiple trades-drywall, roofing, metal decking, fireproofing, insulation, and more-delivering complex projects coast to coast. As our Corporate Safety Manager, you'll play a vital role in shaping and sustaining a culture where safety is embedded in everything we do. You'll work directly with field teams, leadership, and project managers to strengthen compliance, reduce risk, and support our people in staying safe and healthy-every day, on every site. 
 
  Key Responsibilities
 
 
   
  
 Conduct frequent job site audits across multiple regions to assess practices, identify hazards, and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards. 
 
 Partner with project teams and field leadership to proactively address safety concerns and implement effective corrective actions. 
 
 Develop, maintain, and continuously improve company safety policies and procedures tailored to the nuances of self-perform construction. 
 
 Lead investigations into incidents and near-misses-prepare detailed reports, identify root causes, and implement preventative solutions. 
 
 Oversee safety documentation, including training records, inspection logs, and compliance reporting. 
 
 Deliver impactful safety training and provide coaching to promote ownership and accountability at all levels. 
 
 Enforce safety policies with a balance of positive reinforcement and corrective action when necessary. 
 
 Travel regularly to job sites across your assigned region(s), managing travel expenses responsibly. 
  
   
  
 
  What You Bring
 
 
   
  
 Minimum 3 years of relevant safety experience in commercial construction or an industrial trade environment. 
 
 Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards. 
 
 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills-you know how to influence and build trust in the field. 
 
 Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills for recordkeeping and documentation. 
 
 Physical ability to inspect all areas of a job site, including accessing ladders, scaffolds, roofs, and confined spaces. 
 
 Strong judgment and a calm, decisive approach to high-pressure situations. 
 
 Certifications such as CHST, STSC, OSHA 510-or willingness to obtain. 
 
 Spanish bilingual skills are a plus.
