Senior Financial Analyst- Behavioral Health Programs

Horizon Health, a wholly owned subsidiary Universal Health Services, is a diversified health care services provider. The company is a leading contract manager of clinical and related services, primarily of behavioral health programs offered by acute care hospitals in the United States. Horizon Health is currently seek a self-motivated, well organized Senior Financial Analyst to join our team.The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for providing support, consultation, recommendations and research for senior management, regional operations/management, development, and financial reporting functions of Horizon Health and its divisions. This will include monitoring of regulations, development of pricing, analyses of transactions, and interpretation and modeling of trends and changes affecting the healthcare industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare proforma financial statements for current and potential client hospitals including forecasting results of proposed or predicted changes.
  • Provide strategic planning to operations and sales/development.
  • Provide expertise on behavioral health reimbursement methodologies for current and potential client hospitals.
  • Update Excel models for changes to Medicare reimbursement.
  • Research impact of reimbursement changes to company and client hospitals.
  • Prepare and present presentations to hospital C-Suite.
  • Keep organization abreast of current and upcoming CMS and/or state regulations.
  • Serve as a consulting resource on reimbursement, regulatory and financial modeling factors as new product lines are developed..
  • Conduct ad hoc reporting and special projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Degree in Accounting, finance, economics, or statistics- highly preferred
  • 1-3 years of related working experience required

Specialized Skills and Knowledge

  • Knowledge of healthcare facility practices
  • Strong analytical skills in all areas of finance
  • Thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Thorough understanding of generally accepted auditing standards
  • Thorough understanding of methods of systems analysis and the principles, design, and procedural methods used in computer and database development
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Thorough understanding of project management
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
