The Guidance Center (TGC) is the Community Mental Health Center and Certified Behavioral Health Clinic serving Leavenworth, Atchison, and Jefferson counties in Kansas. The Guidance Center (TGC) is currently seeking a Mobile Crisis Case Manager (FT). The MCCM will work collaboratively with a team to provide crisis care to clients in the community. Our MCCM is responsible for providing mobile mental health crisis and outreach services to Leavenworth, Atchison, and Jefferson Counties. MCCM's are dedicated to resolving emergency situations by providing brief and intensive services with the goal of reducing the need for hospitalization and diverting from justice system contact. Monday through Friday, 3:00pm to 11:00pm (40 per week, schedule is negotiable).

Responsibilities



  1. Respond across Leavenworth, Atchison and Jefferson County as part of a 2-person team, providing mobile crisis interventions to a variety of individuals in crisis. (Must be able to respond on site within one hour)





  1. Engaging individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis by building rapport, assessing motivation, and encouraging participation in services.





  1. Using a Strengths Based perspective to assess individuals' circumstances to identify needs and/or determine resource eligibility.





  1. Initiate de-escalation procedures when appropriate, consistent with MANDT and Mental Health First Aid procedures.





  1. Maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with TGC staff as well as referral sources and community partners through accurate, timely, and professional communication.





  1. Adapt to changing work priorities and a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism





  1. Provide documentation (i.e., notes, reports, other professional products, and grant reports) which complies with TGC's Quality Improvement standards and the requirements of all funding sources.



Education and Licensure



  • Required: Bachelor's degree required. Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or human service field preferred. Equivalent work experience in the human services field, or a combination of work experience in the human services field and education, with one year of experience substituting for one year of education, may be considered.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License
  • Preferred: Two or more years of crisis experience in a professional setting
