Position Purpose |
This position will support The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice in executing a portfolio of health service research and quality improvement projects. Tasks include project management, meeting facilitation, data collection, management and analysis, research event coordination, reporting, and project development/assisting in preparing grant proposals. Serves as an integral team member in engaging, facilitating, and successfully implementing multiple complex projects. In collaboration with project leaders, implement the entire life cycle of project activities with a high degree of independence and responsibility for ensuring the timely completion of project activities. This project will involve conducting interviews with adolescents and their caregivers related to adolescent mental health crises and home safety, in addition to other qualitative and quantitative project work focused on children with chronic health conditions. |

The Research Project Coordinator will join the Leyenaar Lab. Our team works to advance child health and healthcare quality by analyzing health systems data, learning from children and families about what's important to them, and implementing and evaluating child health programs.
Our current areas of research include:
- Identifying disparities in healthcare quality experienced by rural-residing children through analysis of health systems data
- Understanding the complex challenges associated with inadequate mental health resources for children, including the crisis of mental health boarding
- Health outcomes in young children following prenatal opioid exposure
- Quality of care for children with medical complexity

Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp |
Bachelors plus 6 or more years' experience or combination of education and experience |
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities |
- Demonstrated ability to manage a complex research project with minimal supervision.
- Project management experience and proficiency with Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, and web-based applications.
- Ability to work directly with high-level national stakeholders to advance research objectives.
- Familiarity with research methodologies and statistical data analysis.
- Proven ability to apply critical thinking and sound judgment to address open-ended problems.
- Superior verbal communication and writing skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
- Commitment to diversity and serving the needs of a diverse population.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Master's degree plus 3-5 years of experience
- Experience working with data in Excel and other statistical programming software, including preparing presentation-quality graphs and tables.
- Experience with qualitative methodology.
- Experience working with adolescents.
- Experience preparing professional-quality PowerPoint presentations.
- Experience writing technical reports, grant reports, and applications.
- Experience conducting literature searches.
